Obituary for Hazel Sue Ballinger Hazel Sue Ballinger, 74, of New Market, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. She grew up in Rocky Valley in a family of five sisters, “The Seals Girls”, as well as with her dad and mom, who she loved very much. She lived in Rocky Valley most recently and was a member of Rocky Valley Baptist Church.

Sue was also a member of the Mill Springs community where she and her husband ran Ballinger’s dairy farm. While living in Mill Springs, Sue attended Mill Springs Baptist Church. Sue was full of laughter and had a great sense of humor.

She loved her family, music (especially bluegrass and gospel), and cooking. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, John Harrison and Nina Lilian Seals and her husband, Claude “CR” Ballinger, Jr. Her surviving family members include her daughter & son-in-law, Cindi and Elijah Brock; son, Curtis Ballinger, who lived with her; sisters, Polly (Bob) Ailey, Barbara Jean (Roger) Denton, Gladys (Carl) Longmire, and Joyce Watson; sister-in-law Marjorie Ballinger; grandchildren Cori (Mark) Johnson, Chad (Courtney) Cain, Chase (Mikalea) Cain, Dylon Ballinger, and “adopted” grandson, Devon Vanderbush; special great grandson, Luke Johnson; special friend and caregiver, Heidi Helm; and several special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market and the funeral immediately following.
