He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria E. Chapa; daughter, Nilda Chapa Guzman and sons, Hector A. Chapa Jr. and Heriberto Chapa. He is survived by his daughters, Nora Diana Chapa and Noemi Gonzalez; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and 3 sisters.
