OBITUARY Helen L. Slatinsky March 1, 1928 – December 4, 2018 Helen Louise Slatinsky, 90, of Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 4th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be 10-11am Monday Dec. 10, followed by the funeral mass at 11:00am at the Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th Street, Leawood, KS 66209.

Helen was born in 1928 in Sedalia, MO, the daughter of Roy and Helen. Part of a deeply close knit family, Helen is proceeded in death by her husband of 70 years John Slatinsky, her parents and sister Norma Jean. Helen is survived by her four adoring children Kathy (Mike), Rita (Gary), Janis (Steve) and John Vincent, her eight grand children Kelly (Aaron), Lauren, Randy (Molly), Janda (Mark), Piper (Jack), McKenzie (Ryan), Cassie and Kayla (Mike), her eight great grandchildren Cameron, Lilly, Alex John, Ben, June, Nikki, Louise & Wyatt and her 2 grand-dogs Pooky & Fudgey.

Helen enjoyed many things including reading, cooking, decorating, traveling, fishing, sewing & fashion but what she loved most of all was spending time with her family. Helen instilled the importance of family in each of her family members by making family get togethers so much fun and non-negotiable. She made every get together special and the entire family came running anytime she offered one of her delicious home cooked meals, she was the best cook ever.

The family traditions she created are still continued today and will continue for years to come. Helen had the sweetest smile & personality. Everywhere she went you heard laughter, she found the humor in everything, and she passed this wonderful trait down to her entire family.

Helen was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Her fiery red hair and personality will truly be missed by all who knew her. We would like to thank all of the people who helped take care of her over the past few years.
