Helen Ruth Mathews, 82, of Fort Payne, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019. She was born in DeKalb County April 15, 1936 to the late Arthur William Lee Hilyer and Vira Pauline Hilyer. She was a member of Ruhama Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 12 noon Monday at Ruhama Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Murdock officiating. Burial will follow in Walkers Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edwin Mathews; children Dennis Mathews (Barbara Jennings), Janice Cook (Craig), Vickie Greene (Paul), and Annette Wright (Dion); grandchildren Nicholas, Laura, Julia, Desiree, Starla, Shawne, Sethe, Colby, Skyler, and Lindsey; and great-grandchildren Zoey, Brilee, Zade, Isabella, Cason, Collin, Maylee, and Lynnleigh.
