Helen Maurer age 91 of Crestview and formally of Terre Haute, IN passed away Tuesday morning January 15, 2019 at Shoal Creek Rehab. She was born on January 29, 1927 the youngest of 5 children to Lester and Hester Brown. She grew up in a farming community and loved spending time with her family.

Helen was a member of the 8th Avenue Baptist Church in Terre Haute, IN, where she served as a Deaconess and helped run many prayer chains and activities in the church. She married William G. Maurer and had 2 children. Helen loved to travel and go camping.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter Susan Elaine Mattimore. Survivors include her son Doug Maurer and wife Betty; 4 grandchildren: Judd and Jill Mattimore, Joshua and Justin Maurer. Also surviving are her great grandchildren: Cobie, Jordan, CJ, Caleb and Laci.

A memorial service for Helen will take place later in her home state of Indiana. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview. Guest book and condolences are available online at www.
