She was born on April 25, 1933 in Cedartown. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Ada Peugh Sanders.

Mrs. East is survived by her daughter, Ann Arnold; son, Larry E. East (Judy); brother, Harold Sanders (Louise); grandchildren, Danielle Smith (Darien), Adam East (Jamie), Shannon Shadix (Tyler), Brannon East (Kristie) and Katie Reaid (Adrian); 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. East is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walton W. East; son, Greg East; six sisters; and six brothers. The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Helen Sanders East will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at three o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Bishop Neil Harper officiating.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Mrs. East will receive family and friends on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 1:30 pm in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Mitch Hanson, Randy East, Adam East, and Brannon East.

The family is accepting flowers; however, donations can be made to Heyman Hospice of Floyd; 420 E. Second Avenue, Rome, GA 30161. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Helen Sanders East.
