Obituary for Herbert L. Lucke A private family burial service with military honors for Herbert L. Lucke will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 in the Fort Bliss National Cemetery. A memorial service will follow for friends and family at 10:30 am on July 9th at Montwood Church of Christ in El Paso, Texas. Herbert passed from this life Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Early, Tx at the age of 84.

Herbert was born on January 16, 1934 in Anson, Tx to Alvin and Beulah (Malone) Lucke. He graduated from Austin High School in El Paso and received his Associates Degree from El Paso Community College. Herbert eloped with his high school sweetheart, Billie Ruth Elkins, on March 31, 1952 in Zaragosa, Mexico.

Herbert served his country in Naval Reserves as an Electronics Technician from June 1951 until January 1994. He retired from Chevron in December 1986 after a thirty-year career. Billie and Herbert faithfully attended and served the North Loop/Montwood Church of Christ in El Paso.

He enjoyed time spent with family and friends, traveling, football and hunting. Herbert is survived by his three children, Terri Kirkpatrick and husband Rick, Rhonda Roark and husband Rob, and Don Lucke and wife Tammy; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife of 58 years.
