Herman Dixon Bailey, 84, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Friday morning, April 27, 2018. Herman was born on February 2, 1934 to the late Zenus Alvin Bailey & Lizzie Maude Doggett Bailey. He grew up in Union Grove, Alabama, before moving to Cleveland, Tennessee, in 1971.

Herman was a member of the Church of God, Worldwide, and always enjoyed fellowshipping with his church family. His hobbies included: collecting coins, collecting matchbox cars, farming, and gardening. More… Read More » than anything, Herman loved spending time with his family.

He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Alvin Bailey, Gilbert Bailey, G.W. Bailey, Ernest Bailey, Radford Bailey, Frank Bailey, and Tempie Bailey. Herman leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of almost 58 years, Ruth Artis Bailey; son, William Joseph Bailey (Caryl K.); grandchildren, Joseph Dixon and Kenneth Austin Bailey; sister, Nellie Pauline Green; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until 2:30pm on Sunday April 29, 2018 at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation, at 2:30pm in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home, with Mr. Eric Evans officiating. Herman will be laid to rest in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Grove, Alabama at 12:30pm (Central standard time) on Monday April 30, 2018, 291 Mountain View Church Road, Union Grove, AL 35175.
