Herman’s Obituary Herman John Kueng, 83, of Port Orange, passed away on February 8, 2019 at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born on November 13, 1935 at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NYC. Herman attended public grade school in Manhattan, NYC and consequently graduated with honors from Stuyvesant High School in Lower Manhattan, NYC.

He attended Valparaiso University in Indiana, majoring in engineering. The following 22 years were spent in the Army as a C-E Maintenance chief and master Sgt. Among many awards, he received the Meritorious Service medal and 3 Expert Badges.

Herman proudly served our country with assignments in Vietnam, Germany and various European countries, plus Alaska, North Dakota and Texas. He completed the required service for retirement in 1980. Herman was an only child and was preceded in death by his Mother, Herta, his Father, Johann and his first wife, Gail.

He is survived by his wife, Jayne, of 4 years, 10 months. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday February 16, 2019 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1715 Taylor Road, Port Orange, FL 32128. Condolences may be shared with the family here on our online guestbook.
