Mrs. Hilda Myrtle Sauls Brewer, 93, of Hartsville, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday afternoon, January 12th, 2019, at Morrell Nursing Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday morning, January 15th, 2019, in Emmanuel Baptist Church. Reverends Jamie St. Ours and John Hamilton will officiate with burial following in Magnolia Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Brewer was born in Ridgeland, South Carolina. She was a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina and following graduation, she was a nurse for over 30 years, most of the time being associated with Byerly Hospital as a nightshift supervisor.

Myrtle loved being a part of the children’s nursery at Emmanuel. She will be remembered as a lady who loved to shop and travel! She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Byars and husband, Ken of Hartsville; grandchildren, Andrew Byars of Hartsville and Jonathan Byars of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Dorothy Tindal of Ridgeland, South Carolina and brothers, H.B. Sauls of Kingstree, South Carolina and Robert Sauls of Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church at 949 North Marquis Highway, Hartsville, South Carolina 29550. Norton Funeral Home of Hartsville is honored to be serving the Brewer family.
