Obituary for Hilliard Galloway U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Ret.

Hilliard Galloway, 82, husband of Barbara M. Galloway, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2018, at University Hospital of Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Bethesda Baptist Church with the Dr. Roland Galloway and the Dr. Clayton Galloway officiating. Interment will follow in the Harlem Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors accorded.

Mr. Galloway, a native of Brundidge, Alabama, retired from the United States Army having served in Korea and Vietnam and was the recipient of numerous awards and medals. He was also retired from DSM Chemicals. He was a member of Silver Run Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara M. Galloway; three sons, Roland Galloway (Laverne), Clayton Galloway (Mary) and Hilliard Galloway, Jr.; one brother, Hubert Galloway; two sisters, Christine Arnett and Nadine Bailey; Seven grandchildren, Jamie Aycox, Tara Pilgrim, Drew Galloway, John Galloway, Ashley Nelson, Clayton Galloway, Jr. and Walter Galloway, Jr.; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Wolfgang Galloway and Walter Galloway, and his brother, George Clayton Galloway. Pallbearers will members of the Military.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 30, 2018, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Hilliard Galloway please visit our Sympathy Store.
