Hiltz- Howard Alfred, 87, of Richland Township, died peacefully at Windber Woods on April 25th 2018 after a brief illness. He was born on June 13, 1930 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Alfred Hiltz and Eva (Talbott) Hiltz. Survived by loving wife of 60 years Wilma (Kehle) Hiltz; children Richard Hiltz, Salem, VA; and Brian Hiltz (wife Lori), Richland; and grandchildren Brittany, Ridgway, PA; and Benjamin, Arlington, VA.

He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and received an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Maryland. Former Chairman Johnstown Section, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers; Chairman Southern Cambria County School Authority, and Vice Chairman Greater Johnstown Area Vo-Tech School Authority. Retired 1st LT US Army Reserve PA National Guard and Superintendent of the Electrical Department at Bethlehem Steel Corp – Johnstown.

Long term member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church where he spent many productive hours working on various improvement projects. Enjoyed tending to his large collection of colorful roses and was a life-long tennis enthusiast.
