Howard Lee Eisenhour March 06, 1927 – December 28, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Howard Lee “Ike” Eisenhour, 91, of El Reno, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, at his home. The son of George Eisenhour and Bernice (Snyder) Eisenhour, he was born March 6, 1927, in Minco, Oklahoma. Howard graduated from Minco High School in 1945.

He was a United States Navy Veteran and served during World War II. He married Betty Lou Shumate on October 21, 1949. Howard worked as a sales consultant for OG&E and retired in 1987 after 38 years of service.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the El Reno Lodge, and was a member of the India Shrine Arab Patrol, American Legion, VFW, and the Ancient and Beneficent Order of the Red Red Rose. Throughout his life, Howard was very civic-minded and spent countless hours volunteering his time for various community organizations, 4-H, and coaching little league sports. After his retirement, Howard enjoyed traveling with his wife, Betty, and drinking coffee with his friends nearly every morning.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Eisenhour; one sister, Erma Jean Newman; and two brothers, Harold Eisenhour and Bill Eisenhour. Howard is survived by four sons, Steve and wife, Connie, of Tucson, Arizona, Jim and wife, Barbara, of El Reno, Jerry of Midwest City, and Barry and wife, Kim, of Wheatland; eleven grandchildren, Scott, Ryan and wife, Tassey, Mark and wife, Deja, Troy and wife, Amanda, Dana and husband, Terry, Justin and wife, Lindsay, Michael and wife, Bessie, Jeff and wife, Susan, David and wife, Heather, Hunter, and Abby; nineteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Charles Eisenhour of El Reno, and Lloyd Eisenhour and wife, Glenda, of Edmond; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

Viewing will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home in El Reno. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in El Reno. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
