Howard E. Bennett, 87. God has called one of his most faithful servants Home on July 7, 2018. He was born in Massillon on December 22, 1930 to the late Floyd and Inez (Luttrell) Bennett.

Howard was a proud veteran of The United States Navy and retired as Chief Electrician for the City of Massillon. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Massillon, American Legion Post #221 and The Fraternal Order of Eagles #190. He was dedicated to his family and his church.

He was affectionately known as the Fish Whisperer because of his ability to always get something to bite on every fishing trip, and as the Cross Man, making and giving away thousands of beautiful wooden crosses. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Lane) Bennett, whom he married on June 7, 2003; his children, Amy Bennett of Dayton, Donald E. (Paula) Bennett of Dayton and Thomas K. (Debbie) Bennett of Herndon, VA; stepchildren, Timothy (Jen) Eber and Kelly (Mike) Province; eleven grandchildren, Chris, Kevin, Maryann, Sarah, Samuel, Timmy II, Hanna, Melanie, Stephanie, Tiffanie and Brittany; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara, Margie and Mary; and a brother Augie. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of forty-one years, Ann Elizabeth Bennett; brother, Frank; and a sister, Judy.

Friends may call at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 6pm-8pm and on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Faith Lutheran Church, Massillon from 9:30am-10:30 am, with a funeral service to be held at 10:30am, conducted by Pastor Emily Seitz.
