Obituary for Hubert Guy Hood Print Hubert Guy Hood, 78, Kingsport, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Crown Cypress Assisted Living. Hubert was born in Scott County, Virginia on July 7, 1940 to the late Hezie Carr Hood and Maysie Lee (Lane) Hood. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lorraine (Estep) Hood, an infant brother and his brother and sister-in-law, Mac David Hood and wife Patricia Ann Hood.

Hubert was employed by J. P. Stevens (Cotton Mill) in Kingsport, retiring after 40 years of service. Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters (Daughters By Love), Doris Gilliam and husband Larry, Kingsport, TN and Tammy Davidson and husband Dewayne, Durham, NC; sisters, Marcella Fleming, Kingsport, TN and Jewell Dean Amos and husband Carl, Kingsport, TN; brothers Earl Hood and wife Lois, Gate City, VA, and I. J. Hood, Duffield, VA; grandchildren, Amanda Browning and husband Danny, Patrick Davidson, Jessica Davidson, Lindsey Hood, Jake Hood, Cheyenne Hensley and Candice Hensley; special great-grandchildren, Dalton, Emily, and Parker Browning along with one son, one daughter, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 17, 2019 at Gate City Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Garry Hood officiating.

Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to thank the staff of Crown Cyprus Assisted Living for their loving care of Hubert.
