Obituary for Hubert Jerome Downer Hubert Jerome Downer, 91, of Fort Payne, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018. He was a member of Hammondville Church of God Seventh Day. Mr. Downer retired from the United States Air Force in 1970.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home with burial following in Fischer Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. hour of service. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elisabeth Downer; son, Michael Downer; brothers, Troy Downer and James Downer; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Downer; parents, Luther and Cecil Gerome Downer; and eight siblings.
