Obituary for Huey Long Huey Long, 86, of Magnolia, AR passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Wentworth Place Nursing Home in Magnolia, AR. Huey was born on December 29, 1932 in Smackover, AR to the late Allen McKinley and Mable Leona (Alger) Long. He was a member of the Stephens First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

He worked as a Tool Pusher for McAlester Oil Company and retired from Stephens Public Schools as a maintenance man. Huey was preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen Estelle (Carter) Long; grandson Donovan Lynn Long; and eleven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Michael A. Long and wife Bonnie of Maumelle, AR, Susan Long Richards and husband Mark of Ruston, LA, and Mary Long Wilson and husband Larry of Magnolia, AR; sister Marie Long Rogers and husband Pat of Port Neches, TX; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at the Stephens First Baptist Church with Bill Nordmeyer and Sandy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Stephens Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church.

Pallbearers will be Joey Dennis, Jonathan Richards, Adam Ponder, Wesley Long, Brett Wilson, and Billy Hogan. Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Moses, Larry Hogg, Richard Hughes, Frankie Story, and Dale Lotz. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Stephens First Baptist Church, 223 West Ruby Street, Stephens, AR 71764 or Life Touch Hospice, 2301 Champagnolle, El Dorado, AR 71730 The Long family would like to thank the staff at Life Touch Hospice and The Cottages at Wentworth Place for their kindness, care and compassion given to their family.
