Jody Eugene Shackelford, 62 of Mc Neil, AR passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia, AR. Jody was born on August 30, 1956 in Magnolia, AR to the late Clarence Eugene and Ollie Mae (Green) Shackelford. He worked for SAPA as a machinist before having to retire due to his health and he also trained horses.

He was formerly a member of the Rugged Cross Cowboy Church and was currently attending the College Hill Baptist Church. Jody was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Linda Baker and Debbie Shackelford. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Deborah Shackelford of Mc Neil, AR; children, Kelly Shackelford of Little Rock, AR, Lance Shackelford of Siloam Springs, AR, Ashley Bane and fiancé Matt Reeves of Magnolia, AR, and James “Rooster” Shackelford and wife Velvet of Waldo, AR; grandchildren, Sabrina Shepherd, Courtney Shepherd, Christopher Bane, Zander Reeves, Evelyn Reeves, Bryson Shackelford and Jacelynn Shackelford; brother David Shackelford of Village, AR; sister Kathy Henderson and husband Larry of Elysian Fields, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2019 at the Rugged Cross Cowboy Church with Bro. Mike Launius officiating with burial at the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the church.

Pallbearers will be James Shackelford, Mike Hanson, Bubba Mclelland, Chuck Rowe, David Shackelford, and Clint Wortham. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Reeves and Keith Wiley. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are to made to Lewis Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses; Rugged Cross Cowboy Church, PO Box 1220, Magnolia, AR 71754; College Hill Baptist Church, 2000 Columbia Road 45, Mc Neil, AR 71752.
