Obituary for Ida Zablocky (Wescott) Petersburgh – Ida Irene Zablocky, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Castleton on Hudson. Born in Berlin, NY on March 12, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Clara Wescott. Throughout her life, Ida lived in both the Berlin and Watervliet areas.
She worked at several florists in those areas, including John Hannell’s Flowers in Latham, Seagroatt Floral Co. in Berlin, and Valoze’s Greenhouse in Cohoes. Ida was a meticulous woman who always kept herself organized. She will be missed greatly by those lucky enough to be her family and friends.
Ida is survived by her children; Joan (late George) Gardner of Hoosick Falls, Arley (late Cindy) Yerdon of Tennessee, Robert (Judy) Yerdon of Grafton, John Yerdon of Pownal, and James (Eleanor) Yerdon of Poestenkill, her stepchildren; Michael Zablocky and Stephen Zablocky, both of Watervliet, her siblings; Elmer Wescott of Berlin, Marth Oakes of Berlin, Joseph Wescott of Valley Falls, and Joyce Alderman of Berlin, and by many loving grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Zablocky, her son, Rodney Yerdon, and her siblings; Elizabeth, Chester, Jesse, Robert, Perry Jr., Willis, Loyal, Donald, and Mary. A visitation will be held Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 12 until 2 PM at Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Rd.
, Petersburgh. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home Monday morning, September 10, 2018 at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Berlin Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery.
