Obituary for Doris Smith (Prendergast) Woodbridge, Virginia – Doris (Prendergast) Smith, age 91, of Troy, New York passed away on Friday, October 5th, 2018 at Tribute at the Glen Assisted Living/Memory Care facility in Woodbridge, Virginia after a long illness. Doris was born on July 3, 1927 in Troy, New York to Grace and Michael Prendergast. Doris was the beloved wife of 71 years of the late Thomas Vincent Smith.
She was the cherished mother of Geraldine Smith Kooyoomjian (Jack) and the adored grandmother of Jennifer, Melissa, and Jessica. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Riley and Raelin Dunn and Marco and Luca LoPiccolo and three grandsons-in-law, Travis, Vincenzo and Anand; her sister Kathleen Bisio (Paul); two brothers, John (Joan) and Michael (Keitha) Prendergast as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Gracie Taggart and her husband Bernie Taggart and a brother, William Prendergast whose wife Connie survives.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects and visit with Doris’ family on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Parker Brothers Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet, New York. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 175 Williams Road, Troy, 12180. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, New York.
