Obituary for Imelda Barsalona Imelda K. Barsalona (Sis) 96 of Atlantic Highlands passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday April, 19, 2018 at the Riverview Medical Center in Red bank. Sis was born on March 28, 1922 in Middletown, New York. Growing up in Staten Island she attended Tottenville high school.

After graduating she went to work as an executive secretary on Wall Street. Soon after she met her husband Gus and they were married for 57 wonderful years. They first resided in Tottenville where they raised their family.

Together in 1950 Sis and her husband Gus started the G & S Paint Store. Together they expanded the business to four successful locations throughout Staten Island. Sis is predeceased by her husband Gus and her sisters Clair, and Rosemary as well as her brother Fred.

Sis was the devoted mother of Jim and his wife Carol and Russ and his wife Georgie. She is survived by her grandchildren Cara, Jeff, Aimee, Mathew, Samantha, and Emma, as well as her great grandchildren Brody and Lilly. Sis loved her cross word puzzles and was an avid reader.

She also enjoyed dancing and traveling with her husband Gus. Sis enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Sis will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Route 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Saturday April 21, 2018 from 2 – 4pm and 7 – 9pm. A Prayer Service will take place at 8pm Saturday night.
