Ira’s Obituary Ira Donald Byers, 73, of Allen passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Ira was born on Tuesday, October 9, 1945, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. His parents were the late Ira Chase Byers and Lilian Marie Slaughter Byers.

After high school Ira joined the United States Air Force in October 1963. He stationed overseas for a year and a half and part of that time was spent in Vietnam where he was assigned to the 516 Field Maintenance Squadron. Ira was Honorably discharged from the Air Force on October 13, 1967.

Ira was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Dawn Byers and Chase and Mandie Byers and his grandchild. Ira will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with military honors on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Masonic Adult Home.
