Irene’s Obituary Jeanette “Irene” Aardema, 94 of Hull, Iowa died Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Pleasant Acres Care Center of Hull. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, IA with Rev. Robert Drenten officiating.

Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to the hour of service at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Funeral Home. The Aardema family prefer memorials be directed to Hope Haven or Immanuel Christian Reformed Church of Orange City.

Jeanette “Irene” Aardema was born September 30, 1924 to Nicholas and Jeanette (Schortinghuis) Aardema in Sioux Center, Iowa. She graduated from Sioux Center Community school. Irene has lived most of her life in Sioux Center and Orange City.

She was a member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. She worked for many years at Hope Haven. The last few years of her life, she has lived at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull.

Irene loved listening to Christian music. She enjoyed feeding birds and loved nature and animals. She especially loved cats and kittens.

Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved nephews and nieces: Ronald (Laverne) Kelderman of Cedar Falls, IA, Curtis (Abby) Kelderman of Waverly, IA, Nancy (Allen) Seiler of Cedar Rapids, IA, Diana (Dan) Thorn of Marshalltown, IA and Cheryl (Les) Richardson of Allison, IA as well as many cousins. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Jeanette Aardema; sister, Grace Kelderman; brother, Charles Aardema; nephew, Kenneth Kelderman, and brother-in-law, Albert Kelderman.
