Obituary for Irene Cox Tandy Frankfort – Irene Cox Tandy, age 86, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Bradford Square Nursing Home. Services for Mrs. Tandy will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Rayborn officiating.
Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mrs. Tandy was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on May 3, 1932, to the late James Robert and Gladys May Robinson Cox.
She was united in marriage to Leroy Tandy, who also preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded by her siblings, Illa Stinnett, Lillian Duncan, and Allen Cox, and by her grandson, Kelly Armstrong. She is survived by her sons, James Tandy (Sarah) and Roy Tandy (Billie); brother, Bill Cox (Pauline); grandchildren, Katie Renee Tandy, Lorie Davis, and John Armstrong; and by seven great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and one on the way.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Per Irene’s request, please come dressed casually to share memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
