Irene Marie Groleau June 09, 1936 – February 14, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Montpelier, VT Irene Marie Groleau, 82, of Edwards Street died on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Berlin Health and Rehab Center. She was born on June 9, 1936, the daughter of Ted and Agnus (Rock) Mayo. She graduated from Spaulding High School in 1954.

Irene worked for the Vermont Department of Employment and Training before retiring at age 70 after 30 years of service. Irene was an avid reader. She enjoyed Dancing and Gardening.

Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her children; Marianne Cote of Montpelier and Michael Cote of Montpelier; her step children; Lorraine Blake of Massachusetts and Reuel Groleau of Barre,VT; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Doris Leno.

A funeral mass will be held in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www. stjude.org.
