Obituary for Irvin Joseph Pitre Irvin Joseph Pitre, 79, lost his battle with cancer on October 4, 2018, surrounded by his family. A visitation will be held in his honor at St. Eloi Catholic Church (Theriot, LA) on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 9:00 AM until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM at the church.

Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Military Honors will take place at 11:00 AM. Irvin was a native of Louisiana who loved the outdoor life, being an avid fisherman.

He was proud to have served as Private First Class in the National Guard, Company “C” 156th Infantry during the Korean War. Irvin was a loving man who was most proud of his family. He leaves behind and will be dearly missed by his wife, Mazie Naquin Pitre; his children, Barry Joseph Pitre, Dean Mark Pitre, and Lisa Ann Pitre-Hauck.

He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and by his 3 siblings, Shirley Deroche, Earline Liner, and Odelo Pitre Jr He is preceded in death by his parents Odelo Pitre Sr. and Irene Blanchard Pitre; infant child, Dwayne Mark Pitre. Samart Funeral Home, West Park is in charge of arrangements.
