Obituary for Iva Jean Bates (Norris) Iva Jean Bates of Malakoff, Texas passed away July 1, 2018. She was born on May 30, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to Felix Bud Norris and Buney Maurine (Looper) Norris. Iva Jean will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, board games and hosting family get togethers. Preceded in death by her parents; she leaves behind husband of 61 years, Ralph Bates of Malakoff; daughters Shedera Jean Morrison and husband Jeff of Arlington, Texas; Deborah Freeman and husband Jimmy of Ft. Worth, Texas; Cindy Bennett and husband Mark of Kennedale; son Buddy Bates and wife Gina of Dallas, Texas; brother Ronnie Norris and wife Barbara of Boyd, Texas; grandchildren, Kiahndra Edwards; Mikaila Morrison; Stephanie Jensen; Cortney Nowik; Blakely, Kennedy and Casey Bates; nine great-grandchildren and numerous other extended family members and dear friends.

The family will receive friends at 9:00 am Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service which begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be held at The Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.
