Obituary for Mark Wilson Mark Hubert Wilson, age 73 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday September 18, 2018. Mark was born on April 2, 1945 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Hubert Ann Wilson and Christine Wilson. Mark was a loving father and husband with a strong moral compass.

Mark graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Master’s in history and then received his second Master’s, in public administration from the University of Oklahoma. Mark was a lover of reading and enjoyed nonfiction–history, political history, and conspiracy theories. He also enjoyed the aroma of candles and music playing, especially the oldies.

Mark was a people person and a conversationalist. He was an animal lover and took care of many strays. Mark is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wayne Wilson and Sharon Wilson.

Left to cherish his memory are his spouse of 40 years Shelly Wilson; brothers Harvey J. Wilson and wife Lora and David Wilson; children Sarah Jane Byam-Wilson and husband Justin Timothy Byam, Ryan Patrick Wilson and wife Marybeth Michelle Menz, Erin Leigh Wilson and husband Nicholas Spencer Harper; grandchildren Penelope Ann Wilson and Gavin Cole Byam; numerous nieces and nephews; many loving friends and extended family; as well as several furry family members and a few not so furry family members. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Stray Dog Shelter in Gun Barrell City, Texas, the Parkinson’s Research Foundation or Operation Kindness.
