Jack Meinen, age 87, passed away at his Maumee home on Saturday, April 28, 2018. He was born to George and Lillian (Balk) Meinen on October 5, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio. Jack attended Maumee High School and in 1949 married his high school sweetheart Lucille (Wheeler) Meinen.

Together they raised their four children: Gerald “Mike” and Jean (Seelman) Meinen, John and Janeen (Kramer) Meinen, Luke and Cindy (Meinen) Cobb, Calvin and Sandy (Meinen) Hubbell. After being honorably discharged from… Read More » the Marine Reserves in January 1950, Jack became a lifetime member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Maumee Eagles. He retired from LOF Rossford after 36 years of service and then began working as a greenskeeper at Belmont Country Club.

Jack enjoyed many years of camping at Sunset Cove Resort, traveling, golfing and fishing with his sons. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Jack is survived by his wife Lucille; children, Mike, John, Cindy and Sandy; 9 grandchildren, Mark Meinen, Stacy Mikoniwicz, Andrew Meinen, Jacob Meinen, Luke Cobb Jr., Melissa Robertson, Calvin Hubbell IV, Jack Hubbell and Cody Hubbell; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and his brothers, George, Bobby and Dick.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, June Klempner and Lois Wagner. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their help and support over the past year. The care they showed not only for Jack but they entire family was truly a blessing.

Visitation will be held from 2-8pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio. Additional visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Thursday, May 3, 2018 with the funeral services to follow at 1pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio.
