Jacqueline A. Gelinas, 86, of Biddeford, died Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Andre’s Health Care with her family by her side. She was born August 14, 1932 in Biddeford a daughter of Harold and Lucienne (Cantara) Twomey and was educated locally, graduating from St. Joseph’s High School in the Class of 1950. On September 20, 1952 she married Paul E. Gelinas.

Jacqueline enjoyed summers at the family cottage in Old Orchard Beach, traveling with Paul, attending sporting events, and cherished the family gatherings. She enjoyed sewing and was also an accomplished knitter. She retired from Southern Maine Health Care working as a secretary in the Radiology Department.

Her two favorite teams were the Biddeford Tigers and the New England Patriots. In her later years, she enjoyed the companionship of her cats. She was preceded in death by Paul, her husband of 45 years, in 1998 her sons Guy in 1989, and John in 2006.

Surviving are: 3 Sons: Richard E. Gelinas of Portland Andrew Gelinas and wife Denise of Biddeford Gerard Gelinas and wife Denise of Biddeford 4 daughters: Denise Thompson and husband Gary of The Villages, FL Joan Chadbourne of Saco Celeste Poirier and husband Jeff of Gorham Michelle Nadeau and husband Kevin of Saco 1 sister: Louise Boisvert and husband Richard of Summerfield, FL 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the care provided by all the staff from The Shaw House, The Wardwell, and St. Andre’s Health Care. Visiting Hours will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford, ME 04005. Funeral prayers will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the Hope Chapel.
