Obituary for James “Art” Stoner James “Art” Stoner, 93 of Cape Girardeau, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born December 20, 1924 in Waldo, Ohio to the late John and Daisy (Hoffman) Stoner. He was a graduate of Waldo High School and served in the Army during WWII and was in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany.

Art and Kathryn Reynolds were married December 28, 1945 in Lexington, Kentucky. He managed a farm implement store in Marion, Ohio and later moved to Cape Girardeau in 1969. He worked for the Gehl Company out of West Bend, Wisconsin as a territory manager selling farm equipment.

Later he worked for Jackson Implement and Heuer and Sons in Cape Girardeau. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Kathryn Stoner of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Mary Kay (Al) Kates of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Chris (Dale) Erickson of Gainesville, Virginia and Marcia (Steve) Hendrix of Jackson, Missouri; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five sisters and a grandson, Nicholas Hendrix.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev.

Douglas C. Breite officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
