James Blair Barclay was born on May 31, 1949 in Manhattan, Kansas and died on February 16, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. In 1967, Blair graduated from B-G-M High School in Brooklyn, Iowa and was a graduate of Iowa State University. He excelled in the banking industry.

Blair was an avid hunter and gun enthusiast. He loved to fish in waters from the farm pond to the ocean. He met life with intelligence, enthusiasm, good humor and wit—he was a creative genius.

His generous spirit, combined with a willingness to help, made him an exceptional friend, colleague and family member. Blair was preceded in death by his parents, James Mulvane Barclay and Marie May Dappen Barclay. He is survived by his wife, Trish; a son, Jarrod and wife, Diane Barclay of Carrollton, Texas; two daughters, Chelsea Barclay of San Diego, California, and Christa and husband Marshall Miles of Dallas, Texas; three granddaughters, Bree, Brooklyn and Alyssa Barclay; one sister, Katie Barclay Ivey of San Antonio, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Surviving also are his aunt, Sara Dappen, of Story City, Iowa, his uncle DeForrest Barclay of Wakefield, Kansas, and mother-in-law Penny Holt of Green River, Wyoming. He was a believer in the presence of God and the transformational power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
