James’ Obituary James R. Dickson, 88, of Pen Argyl, passed away Monday morning, March 4, 2019 with his daughter at his side. He was under hospice care at Chandler Estate where he was a resident. Born on August 5, 1930 in Glen Ridge, NJ, he was a son of the late Walter and Catharine (Ross) Dickson.

He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the United States Army. Jim was a 1969 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and retired from Westfield, New Jersey as their Town Treasurer in 1994. He was a member of Rotary International having belonged to clubs in Stroudsburg and Wind Gap; and he also volunteered at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.

As a music lover, Jim sang in the Chorus of the Poconos Barbershop Chorus and in local church choirs and community choruses. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing. He will be missed by his daughter, Pamela Bentzoni of Bangor; and he was a devoted Granddad to his two grandchildren, Richard Bentzoni and Gabrielle Bentzoni both of Bangor; and his most precious great granddaughter whom he never thought he would still be here to have the honor to meet.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Evelyn E. (McGregor) Dickson on May 9, 2016; and his brother, Walter Dickson. Cremation was private and services and burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to a local Rotary Club.
