LeRoy Harold’s Obituary LeRoy Harold Setzer, 82, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Snydersville. Born on November 20, 1936 in Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late William E. and Hattie J. (Fish) Setzer, and lived most of his life in Monroe County. After graduating from Stroudsburg High School, LeRoy started studying for a degree in Electrical Engineering at Lafayette College in Easton.

He interrupted his studies to serve his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force, where he worked on radar systems and flight line repair and maintenance. Upon honorable discharge as an Airman First Class, LeRoy resumed the pursuit of his degree and finally obtained it in 1973; earning, along the way, admittance into the Eta Kappa Nu Association. After holding several other jobs, LeRoy resumed serving his country as a civilian engineer working at Tobyhanna Army Depot.

He retired from this work in 1999 after 21 years of service. In his free time, LeRoy enjoyed constructing miniature villages with model trains, collecting stamps, collecting coins, and engaging in various outdoor activities—passions that, as a caring father, he shared with his children. He also ensured he had time to watch his Mounties play their sports.

Later in life, LeRoy enjoyed the companionship of his good friend Edna May Oney. LeRoy is survived by his four children: Stephanie and fiance Don, LeAnn and husband Jim, Nicholas and wife Meem, Tamara and partner Stephen; his sister: Frances; his two brothers: Martin and wife Doris, Donald and wife Susan; his sister-in-law: Elizabeth; his four grandchildren: James, Amanda, Brett, and Lauren; and numerous nieces and nephews. LeRoy was preceded in death by his older siblings: Gertrude, Albert, Kenneth, and Dorothy; and his siblings-in-law: Arthur, Frances, Marie, Calvin, and Milton.

The viewing will be held Tuesday, March 5 from 10–11AM at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA with services starting immediately afterward. Following the service, LeRoy’s remains will be cremated and a portion interred with his parents at Prospect Cemetery.
