William’s Obituary William H. Rowswell, III, 79, of Stroud Township, died Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Allentown. Born on July 29, 1939 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late William H. Jr. and Ethel (Brodell) Rowswell, and lived in Monroe County for much of his life. He was a 1957 graduate of Hazleton High School and then entered the U.S. Army where he served for 21 years.

While in the Army he was stationed in Iceland, Vietnam, Korea and Germany; and received several commendation medals and ribbons for his years of service. After being discharged from the Army he worked for the gas company in Stroudsburg. Bill was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Stroudsburg.

Surviving are a brother, Robert F. Rowswell and wife Bev of Panama City, FL; a niece, Kristine Meeks and husband Michael of Panama City, FL; a nephew, Chad Rowswell and wife Kendra of Panama City, FL; two great nieces; two great nephews; one great great niece; and a cousin, Andy Secor and wife Janet of East Stroudsburg. Services will be held on Friday, May 24th from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg; with viewing beginning at 9:00AM followed by the funeral service at 10:00AM with Rev. Eric Moser officiating.

Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 9 N. Ninth Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
