Alice Toomey’s Obituary Alice Toomey Bull, 69, of Stroudsburg passed away Saturday May 18, 2019. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ruth Toomey of Trenton NJ and sister Ann Bugdal of Hamilton Twp. NJ.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years Richard, sons Joseph and Patrick as well as her daughters in-law and three grandchildren. Born in Trenton NJ, she received a bachelor’s degree in English and Library Science from Trenton State College. She continued her education at Rutgers University, from which she received her Master’s Degree in Library Science.

Alice was a librarian in Lancaster Ohio and most recently in the Stroudsburg Area School District elementary schools but most proudly at Hamilton Elementary School. Alice loved going to the beach at the Jersey Shore, reading books to her grandkids and generations of children in her library, watching the loons while on the boat in Canada, snuggling with her dog Annie, sharing her love of theater with her kids and grandkids, and most of all being with her family. Alice was a proud wife, mom, grandmother and teacher.

There will be a visitation for family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Wednesday, May 22nd, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg; with a prayer service at 7:30PM. Graveside service and burial will take place 10:30AM on Thursday, May 23rd, at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex, 16th & Walnut Street, Berwick. In lieu of flowers, it would be appreciated if memorial remembrances be made to Eastern Monroe Public Library or Stroud Township Volunteer Fire Department .
