Rickie’s Obituary After a 7 month long battle with cancer, the Lord called Rickie Daniel Shook home at the age of 48, on the same day he was created. On May 2, 2019 He joined his mother Verna “Jean” to enjoy his birthday cake in heaven. Rickie is survived by his wife Tabitha Shook, son Bryce Shook, and 2 step children, Ethan and Makenna.

Rickie was born on May 2, 1971 in Grand Rapids Michigan to his mother Verna and Father Rickie Shook. He was raised closely with his cousins and 7 years later came his only sibling, a younger brother named Daniel Shook. His family later moved to Texas and he attended school in Baytown.

Rickie earned an honest living in the refinery industry and tried his hand at being a husband and father to his only child, Bryce Daniel Shook. Rickie loved life and especially his son Bryce. They spent many nights and days on the baseball field together and he was so proud to be present when he signed to pitch for the baseball team at Coastal Bend College.

Rickie was an excellent golfer and you could find him fine tuning his skills on the course with his brother and father nearly every Saturday. He enjoyed fishing, nights out with his closest friends, and vacationing in Cabo San Lucas Mexico. Most importantly, Rickie Shook loved the Lord.

Rickie Shook will be honored in a celebration of life ceremony at 2pm Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in the Chapel of Deer Park Funeral Directors.
