Dr. Lewis’ Obituary Dr. Lewis Allen Judy, PhD, 84, of Lake Wallenpaupack, Paupack Township, PA passed away peacefully early Monday morning, May 6, 2019 at his winter home in Tucson, AZ. He was the husband of Suzanne (Good) Judy with whom he shared 60 years of loving marriage. Born on June 16, 1934 in Lewisburg, PA, he was one a son of Scott and Irene (Kline) Judy of Lewisburg, PA.

Lew was the first in his family to attend college. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education, Elementary and Secondary Education from East Stroudsburg State College. He also attended Syracuse University, and later earned his Master of Science degree in Education from East Stroudsburg University.

In 1980, Lew earned his Doctorate’s degree in Educational Administration from Rutgers University. His entire professional career was dedicated to public education and specifically focused on minority and disadvantaged students. Following his retirement in 1991 as Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs at East Stroudsburg University, Lew went on to work as a student guidance counselor at the North Warren Regional School District, NJ, and later served as a director at the Tuscarora Re Center in Tuscarora, PA.

Lew was active in his community. For a time he served on the town council of Portland Township, PA. Lew sponsored Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at East Stroudsburg University.

He was a long time member of the Hawley United Methodist Church in Hawley, PA, and he also attended the Northminster Presbyterian Church, when residing in Tucson, AZ. Lew was an avid reader, who also enjoyed sailing, woodcarving, gardening, and collecting antique American clocks. His son, Scott Judy, predeceased Lew.

In addition to his wife Lew is survived by his daughter-in-law Dorothy Judy (Scott’s wife) of Pocono, PA, his son Dean Judy and daughter-in-law Dawn Judy and grandchildren Gabriel, Paris and Seth of West Seneca, NY, his son Todd Judy and daughter-in-law Anni Chen of Singapore and grandchildren Sam Judy of Santa Monica, CA and Mia Judy of New York, NY. There will be a memorial service held in the Lake Wallenpaupack area, the place and time of which will be determined at a later date. Cremation was private.
