James Everette Grimmett, 81, of Culloden passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV. He was born October 22, 1937 a son of the lateGilbert and Iona Whitlow Grimmett. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Edna Blankenship and former wife, Barbara Grimmett.

Surviving are his son, James Grimmett, Jr. (Kelly) of Culloden; granddaughter, Barbie Spade (Dana) of Hurricane and their children, Taylor Grimmett, Austin Nobel, Brody and Levi Spade; grandson, James Grimmett, III (Kayla) of Milton and their children, Carter, Kira and Joey Grimmett; grandson, Chris Wilson of Ironton, OH; step-grandchildren, Chelsea Carroll of Culloden and Michael Carroll of Hurricane; sister, Sue Black of Georgia; brother, William Grimmett of Florida; former wife, Carolyn Luker of Barboursville; step-son, Jamie Luker (Kristina) of North Carolina; step-grandson, Cody Luker of Barboursville. And a host of other step-children, step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at 1:30pm Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV.

Visitation will be held from 12pm-1pm Thursday at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1pm. You may visit his tribute page at ChapmanFuneralHomes.com to share memories with the family.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Akins and staff as well as Hubbard Hospice House for the care given to Mr. Grimmett.
