OBITUARY James Franklin Dollins Jr. July 10, 1930 – January 28, 2019 Jim Dollins, 88, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2019 in his room at Lakeview Village Care Center. Jim was born on July 10, 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Frank and Evelyn Dollins. He was a member of the Kansas City Breakfast Club and Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

He was an active member of Southminster Presbyterian Church for over twenty-five years. Jim attended the University of Missouri in Columbia and William Jewell College. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954.

Jim met Dea at William Jewel and they were married in 1953. The couple enjoyed 61 years of marriage until her passing in 2015. Jim was the President of FELCO Printing and Mailing (previously known as Federal Letter Company) for 50 years.

Prior to this he was primary journalist of the Dunklin Democrat in Kennett, Missouri. He was an avid bridge player, loved music, theater and sports. Along with Dea, he was fortunate to have traveled extensively including vacations to Europe, group tours across the United States, and several trips to Hawaii.

Jim was a huge KC Chiefs and Royals fan. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Evelyn. He is survived by his children Elaine Henning, Jim Dollins and Jill Dollins and his grandchildren John, Mark, Jake and Annie.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Southminster Presbyterian Church (6306 Roe Avenue, Prairie Village, Kansas) followed by a brief reception. The family will hold a private graveside service at Mount Moriah. Reverend Jeffrey Clayton will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in his name to Southminster Presbyterian Church.
