Morris, age 88, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Janine Plum officiating.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 12 p.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. James was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky on January 24, 1931, the son of the late John and Susie Lewis.

On January 14, 1956 he married Mary Charlene Jones. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean War.

Mr. Lewis worked at Chevy in the Hole for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Surviving are wife, Mary Charlene; 5 children, Rosanna (Eric) August, Susie (George) Pelletier, James (Debbie), Jeff (Christine) and Rhonda Jensen; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrea, Marcus, Mary, Mandy, Jay, Shannon, Jeremy, Curt, Kelly, Lucas and Abigail; 24 great-grandchildren.
