James “Jimmy” Edward Smith, Jr., age 77 of Dublin, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was the son of the late James Edward Smith, Sr. and Lillian Bearse Wolfe. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Eula Smith.

Mr. Smith was a devoted husband of 56 years, a loving father and grandfather and was a member of the Dublin First Church of the Nazarene. Jimmy was retired from Southeast Paper Manufacturing Company and after retirement enjoyed driving for Pitts Toyota in Dublin. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife Lula “Lou” Wyatt Smith of Dublin, sons; Mark (Judy) Smith, Lance (Natalie) Smith, grandchildren; Hannah Smith, Jacob Smith, Kara Smith (Luke) Bearden, Karlee Smith, and Karson Smith all of Dublin, sister; Jean (Jimmy) Passmore of Dublin, brother, Pret (Ondrea) Smith of Dublin, sisters in law; Becky (Jack) Lowery of Dexter, Hazel (Jimmy) Bracewell of Cadwell, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the Dublin First Church of the Nazarene, Wednesday, November 14 at 2:00 PM with Rev.

Don Hicks, Rev. Myron Wise and Rev. Robbie Passmore officiating.

Burial will follow in the Blue Water Baptist Church Cemetery. Paul Adkins, Randy Passmore, Brian Wyatt, Matt Lowery, Mark Tribble, Tim Edenfield, Richard Wyatt and Jeffery Wyatt will serve as pallbearers and the Terry Soles Sunday School Class of the Dublin First Church of the Nazarene will serve as honorary escort.
