Obituary of James (Jim) Carter, Jr. James (Jim) Wallace Carter, Jr., passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018, at home in Asheboro surrounded by his loving family and his beloved blues music. Jim was born July 27, 1935 in Scotland County, NC to James Wallace and Letha Long Carter. He moved to Biscoe, NC with his family at an early age.

He graduated from Biscoe High School Class of 1953, worked for Springs Industries many years, and retired from Stroh Brewery after 29 years. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Williamson Carter; five children, Debbie Carter Burris of Troy, Billy Carter and wife, Annie, of Troy, Carrie (Cooki) Carter Senter and husband, John, of Asheboro, Mary Anne Carter of Randleman, and James Christopher Carter and wife, Judy, of Gibsonville; three grandsons, Phillip Cranford of Troy, Curtis Carter of Troy, and Matthew Senter of Boone; two great-grandsons, Harley and Gavin Cranford of Troy; and one brother, Douglas Carter of Troy. Also surviving are three step-grandsons, Kevin Burris of Siler City, Chris Burris and wife, Erin, of Troy, and Daren Hall of Troy; three step-granddaughters, Rebecca Greene /Charlie of Biscoe, Erin Senter/Kim Apperson of Washington, DC, and Michelle Albright/Jeff of Gibsonville; nine step-great-grandchildren, Madison and Coleman Burris of Troy, Kayla and Hannah Hall, Gwenyth and Charli Green and NeNee Hall of Star, Cody, Serena, and Caden Crumpton and Colton Albright of Gibsonville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator KG4JJY, an avid reader, and enjoyed working on antique radios. He collected old radios and M&M collectibles. He loved his family and friends who referred to him as “Pop”.

He will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank LaConya Little for taking such great care of him, and also Hospice of Randolph County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.

At his request, there will be a private memorial service at a later date.
