born on September 15, 1947, of Johnstown, Pa, passed away on July 25, 2018, at the age of 70. Jim was married to Carole (Manculich) Plowchin on August 14, 1971 and they were married for 47 blessed years. He graduated from Westmont High School in 1965 and St. Francis University.

He also served in the Army Reserves. Jim is survived by children, Michele, married to Eric Roman, Scott, engaged to Tessa Sawyer, and Jill, married to Michael Tonti. He also survived by two granddaughters, Emilee and Madison Roman.

Jim also survived by sister, Rose Plowchin and sister-in-law, Marge Plowchin. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary (Sakmar) Plowchin along with brother, George Plowchin. Jim worked as Penelec for 37 years and then worked part time at Home Depot for 10 years.

He enjoyed putting together puzzles along with enjoying red licorice and a slice of Papa John’s pizza. He was also an active member of the St. Casimir’s Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the finance committee. He was also an active member of the Middle Taylor Citizen’s Group, golfing groups, and bowling leagues.

No viewing services at the request of the deceased. Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10 AM Resurrection Catholic Church, Rev. George M. Gulash celebrant.

Committal service will follow at Benshoff Hill cemetery. Moskal-Reid funeral home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Parkinson’s disease research.
