Obituary for James Joseph Robert Jr James Joseph Robert Jr. was born September 28, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late James J. Robert Sr. and Rose Coste Robert. Everyone knew him as “Big Jimmy”. Jimmy departed this life on October 30, 2018.

During their 63 years of marriage he and his wife, Dolores Legaux Robert, owned and operated J&D’s Corner Grocery Store for 20 years, he also was a brick mason by trade for 32 years. He was a member of the Vikings Social Club for 15 years. He, Dolores and their friends started a Saints football club that met every game day for 20 years, filled with fun and laughter.

James leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dolores L. Robert; his son, James J. Robert, III; daughter- in law, Yolanda Robert; sister, Angeler Glapion; brother-in-law, Michael Glapion; daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Robert Richard and son-in-law, Kent Richard; grandchildren, Neal Robert, Taylor Robert, Dawn White and Melissa Lindsey, nine great grandchildren, also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding his death are his brothers, Maurice Robert and Edwin Robert; his sons, Mark Cayette, Sr., and Yancy Robert; sister-in-law, Beverly Robert; along with grandchildren, Mark Cayette, Jr. and Kristie Cayette, also twenty sisters and brothers-in-law. Relatives and friends of the family, priest and parishioners of Corpus Christi Epiphany Catholic Church are invited to attend A Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christie Epiphany Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Avenue on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00 am.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 am. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
