James L. Williams 83, Appleton, passed away at home on Dec. 17, 2018. Jim was born on November 16, 1935 in Neenah to the late Martin and Mathilda (Hanson) Williams.

He graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1954. He married Carol Linskens on May 12, 1956 at St. Therese Catholic Church. Jim worked in the paper industry for 42 years as a supervisor, retiring in 1995.

Jim and Carol enjoyed traveling in their retirement and were avid fans of the Packers, Chicago Blackhawks and White Sox. Jim had a creative spirit and loved woodworking, gardening and could fix just about anything. He loved his family especially enjoying the grandchildren and great grandkids.

Jim and Carol were long time members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He and his boys enjoyed ice fishing together on Lake Winnebago. He will be missed by his three sons: Dan (Barb) Williams, Hortonville, Dave (Stacie) Williams, Appleton and Steve (Julie) Williams, Appleton; grandchildren: Lisa (Adam) Johnsen, Karen (Austin) Krueger, Kevin (Amanda) Williams, Dan (Casey) Williams, Sarah (Chuck) Northam, Max Williams and Mallory (Chris, special friend) Williams; great grandchildren: Graham, Emma, Jack, Kyle, Bianna and Azrael; a brother Tom (Mary) Williams, Dayton, Ohio; close family friend, Greg Kinderman and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. James Lucas officiating.

Friends may visit the family directly at church on Friday from 9 – 11 AM. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Children’s Hospital of WI in Jim’s name.
