James Stewart of Saginaw Township Treasured son, brother, grandson and nephew passed away untimely as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, January 19, 2019. He was 20 years old. James Matthew Stewart was born on February 26, 1998 in Saginaw, Michigan to the Honorable Matthew J. and Julie A. (Ziozios) Stewart.

He proudly graduated with honors from Heritage High School with the class of 2016. James was in his junior year of college at Western Michigan University. He was studying both Political Science and Psychology.

James was a member of the Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting with his grandfather, skiing, and archery. James also loved cross country, playing soccer, and art.

Above all, he loved and cherished his cockatiel, Dr. Watson. James was truly an old soul and will forever be remembered for being honest, kind, and caring. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Julie A. (William) Kolobaric and Emily, sister of unconditional love of Saginaw Township and the Honorable Matthew J. (Nicole) Stewart of Owosso and their children: Jillian, Jack and Charles; maternal grandparents, James and Judith Ziozios of Saginaw Township; his beloved cockatiel, Dr. Watson, and his two pups, Mollie and Scoobie.

Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Carla Stewart. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Road, Saginaw.

Rev. Calvin Long and Rev. Amy Terhune will officiate.

Private family burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Auburn. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Julie Kolobaric.
