James McGowan, 76 of Eldon, Missouri passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Lake Regional Health Systems in Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born June 30, 1941 in Miller County, Missouri, the son of the late Everett “Jim” and Lucille (Burris) McGowan. Survivors include, His partner, Carlene McDowell of Eldon, MO Sons, Ricky Dusenberry (Karen) of Iowa; Justin McDowell of Eldon, MO Daughters, Jessica McDowell of Eldon, MO; Carly Dawe of Illinois Brother, Bob McGowan (Lena) of Spokane, WA Sister, Barbara Lanham (Clyde) of Eldon, MO Twelve Grandchildren & Twelve Great Grandchildren Eleven Nieces & Nephews His wife, Lorene (Dusenberry) McGowan, a sister, Bonnie Hodge, and a brother, Curtis Leon McGowan, and three nephews, Brian Lanham, Sean Wood & Derrick McGowan preceded him in death.

James was a construction contractor for many years, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Flatwoods Baptist Church of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 PM with Pastor Earl Wood presiding Private Family Burial will be held at Tolwood Cemetery following the service. Memorials in his name are suggested In Care of the Family.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
