James passed on from this life at his home surrounded by his family, friends, his buddy “Bobbi” and his horse Chocolate. The last roundup with friends and family will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, Jan.

16, 2019 in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with pastor Bobby McGee officiating, with entombment to follow in the Wheel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, Jan. 15, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00pm at the funeral home.

Born March 31, 1955 in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Robert Allen Cozart & Hilda Ruth Adams Cozart. James was an over-the-road trucker for 43 years. He was first and foremost a cowboy at heart, who loved long trail rides with his riding buddies.

He loved his horses, especially Chocolate. He was a member of the Rough Riders and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Teresa Butts Cozart, children; Chase Cozart of Wheel, Mike Cozart of Delina, Heath Cook of Wartrace & Michelle Cozart, of Belfast, brothers; Steve Cozart of Lewisburg & Ricky Cozart of Belfast.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis. , Tenn. 38105.
