James N. Petersen, 93, 403 7th St., South Renovo, PA died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at home. Born October 4, 1924 in Galeton, PA he was the son of the late Arthur & Beatrice Dutcher Petersen.

In 1947 he married the former Janice M. Blass who died December 11, 2016. He was a 1943 graduate of the Galeton High School a W.W. II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. For his service he was awarded the Victory Medal, the Asiatic- Pacific Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Medal with one Service Star.

He had been a member of the 1st United Methodist Church, Renovo; and a life member of B.P.O.E. Lodge # 334, Renovo, PA. Jim also had been an active supporter of the PA Flaming Foliage Festival.

He retired in 1987 from Consolidated Gas Co. at Leidy where he had been a Supervisor. His survivors include: 1 Daughter: Aline M. Petersen, S. Renovo, PA 3 Sons: James (Carol) Petersen, Westfield, NJ; Michael (Jennifer) Petersen, Holden, MA and Richard (Jan) Petersen, Palmerton, PA 8 Grandchildren: Brian (Melissa) Petersen; Jamie (Gina) Petersen; Kara Petersen; Rachel Petersen; Jocylin Petersen; Justin (Teryan) Petersen; Alexis Petersen and Josh Petersen.
